Roman Kemp revealed that his mum Shirlie was left "really upset" over his comments about fitting into their family.The television favourite and son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Kemp opened up about family life in candid comments, admitting his reluctance to be the centre of attention.

Speaking to The Guardian, Roman, 32, revealed: "I really upset my mum recently, because I said that sometimes I feel like I don't fit in with our family." He painted a picture of the family dynamics, saying: "I go back home and my dad will be on the piano, my sister will be singing, my mum's taking videos and pictures.

And I just want to be on my own. I'm not... embarrassed by it, but that form of extroversion is not really me." Roman's comments come after he revealed last November that he'd stopped taking antidepressants after more than 10 years.

The star has bravely opened up about his mental health journey in the past and he took to Instagram to share that they were now "out" of his system.
