Shia LaBeouf has come forward to dispute the assertion that he was fired from “Don’t Worry Darling” by director Olivia Wilde just as production was starting in 2020.
LaBeouf asserts that he chose to leave the production because he didn’t feel the actors were give adequate time to rehearse.
In the Aug. 24 cover story with Variety, Wilde opened up for the first time about LaBeouf’s departure from her film. “I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work.
His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances.
