Sheridan Smith reportedly split from boyfriend Alex Lawler after four months because she was still 'in love' with her ex-fiance Jamie Horn.

Sheridan, 40, who is currently starring in BBC drama Four Lives, rekindled her relationship with Alex after 20 years apart from one another before splitting a few weeks ago.

Close pals of the actress revealed that Sheridan called it quits a matter of weeks ago as the two separated with 'no major drama' as the relationship had run its course.

As reported in The Mirror an insider said, the former Gavin & Stacey star 'rushed' into a romance with Alex just two months after her split with Jamie and she now 'regrets' not allowing herself time to heal. "Sheridan was still very much in love with Jamie when she reunited with Alex and she was still grieving for the end of their relationship," the source told Closer Magazine."While she initially tried to pretend she was OK, it became very clear it was more of a rebound fling and that things weren't going to work out as she'd hoped," they went on.Mum-of-one Sheridan revealed she was dating Alex back in September last year - with rumours circulating just weeks later the pair had split.
