Patrick Bamford nodded in a late winner to give Leeds a 1-0 win over local rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. The Premier League’s first Yorkshire Derby was dominated by defensive stubbornness and neither side looked set to find a breakthrough.
But a superb cross from Jack Harrison just three minutes from time was met by Bamford who nodded the ball beyond Aaron Ramsdale to give his side three points and their first away win since their return.
Bamford became the first Leeds player in 52 years to score in three straight top flight matches and make it two straight wins since their opening day defeat to Liverpool.
