Popular Brooklyn drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow have been indicted on criminal conspiracy charges along with 30 other alleged members of the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways gangs.
Kings County District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the 140-count indictment, which includes a charge of conspiracy to commit murder, this afternoon (Tuesday, May 16). “I’m confident that today’s successful takedown will have a positive impact on public safety across several Brooklyn communities as we enter the summer months,” Gonzalez said in a press release. “The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years and left more than a dozen people with serious injuries.
It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man [(Sheff G)] who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for and encourage acts of violence.” Read Next: Sheff G wishes for release on “Break From It” The DA’s office alleges that Sheff G (legal name Michael Williams) gave other 8 Trey members expensive jewelry and treated them to “lavish” meals in exchange for acts of violence committed against rival gangs in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Flatbush, during a period when he himself resided in Short Hills, New Jersey.
He allegedly treated Sleepy Hallow (legal name Tegan Chambers) and others to one such dinner at a Manhattan steakhouse to celebrate the “most egregious” of these crimes: an October 21, 2020 drive-by shooting that took the life of 23-year-old Theodore Senior and injured five other alleged members of the Folk Nation gang.
