She was stunned by what she found in a Manchester charity shop

A woman was left baffled after finding a Tupperware box for sale for £1 in a charity shop. Sarai Van-Cook, 30, was trawling the rails of the Barnardo’s store in Fallowfield Retail Park when she made the discovery on Saturday, September 11.

The primary school teacher, from Levenshulme, was looking through the bric-a-brac section when she noticed a plastic Tupperware box among the shelves. Posting a picture of the tub with the caption ‘Barnardo’s, Manchester’, the post went on to rack up a whopping 2.8k likes and almost 300 comments.

But it’s not the only strange item Sarai has found in a charity shop – other discoveries including a vintage emerald steamer trunk for just £30, a Victorian penny lick ice-cream glass and a Fagin-themed jug from Oliver Twist. “I’m a teacher so I usually spend Saturdays trawling charity shops,” Sarai told the Manchester Evening News. “When I saw it labelled as a ‘kids toy’, my first reaction was, ‘Well,’ this will keep the kids entertained for hours!’” The social media post drew many comments from amused group members.
