The family of a 26-year-old woman at the centre of a murder and rape investigation in Tameside have paid a heartfelt tribute to her.
Elizabeth McCann was tragically found dead at a property on Manchester Road in Ashton-under-Lyne on Thursday (August 25). Simon Goold, of Manchester Road, Ashton has been charged with murder, rape and assault by penetration.
The 51-year-old appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court yesterday (Saturday). He has been remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday. They said 'happy and bubbly' Elizabeth had been 'taken too soon'. They also released a picture of her wearing an evening gown and tiara.
