John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, actor and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which he adopted the nickname "The Prince of Darkness".
Osbourne was fired from the band in 1979 due to alcohol and drug problems, but he went on to have a successful solo career, releasing eleven studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the United States. Osbourne has since reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions.
Sharon Osbourne has furiously hit out at Kanye West, saying he 'messed with the wrong Jew' in a recent interview with TMZ. Her husband, former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, is currently embroiled in a row with the American rapper Kanye after he allegedly used a sample from one of the band's live performances without permission.
Ozzy claimed that Kanye had asked him beforehand, but his answer was no, due to anti-Semitic comments the rapper has made in the past - but he went ahead and used the sample anyway.
The Mirror reports that Ozzy took to his Instagram where he wrote: "Kanye West asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of 'War Pig' from the US Festival without vocals & was refused permission because he is an anti semite and has caused untold heartache to many.
He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!"Sharon, whose father Don Arden was Jewish, has since weighed in on the row.
