Shania Twain has opened up on her experience with Lyme disease, which at one point left her uncertain whether she would ever sing again.
The singer, 54, revealed she had to undergo multiple open-throat surgeries to help her recover from the illness, which she contracted in 2003 after a tick bite.
In a clip of her interview on Sunday Today with Willie Guest, which was released by People, Shania revealed the ordeal she had gone through.
Speaking about her hiatus in 2015 to deal with vocal cord problems, Shania admitted: ‘It was devastating. I was very, very, very sad about it to the point where I just… I felt I had no other choice but to accept it and that I would never sing again. ‘I was mourning for sure.
