Shane Warne was one of the world’s most famous cricket players with plenty of titles and accolades under his belt. But he also made plenty of headlines throughout his time in the spotlight while branching out into sports commentary when he wasn’t the one on the pitch.

The Australian cricket legend died at the age of 52 following a suspected heart attack. The news was announced by his management, who said he was found at his villa and unable to be revived.

Despite being one of the most famous bowlers of all time, Warne’s sporting career came under threat in 2003 when he was banned from cricket for testing positive for a prohibited substance.

After retiring from all forms of cricket in 2013, Warne continued to make headlines. Following his retirement, he was involved with charity work with the Shane Warne Foundation, which assisted seriously ill and underprivileged children.
