Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Shane Duffy admits he hit 'rock bottom' after his dream loan move turned into a nightmare. The boyhood Hoops fan joined up with the club last summer but didn't even finish the season with the club after returning to Brighton following Neil Lennon's exit.

His last appearance for Celtic came in a 2-1 win over St Johnstone in February but he lost his place in the team to Stephen Welsh and never got another look in.

Duffy was also dealing with the death of his father and the criticism he received got too much and he admits it was a 'relief' to return to the south coast of England.He was back in the Brighton team for their English Premier League opener against Burnley which ended in a 2-1 win and he admits he thought his chance at that level had.
