Shaggy is trying everything he can to get back to his family in Jamaica amid the coronavirus lockdown. The singer is currently stuck in New York after Jamaica closed its borders during the outbreak.

After finishing up his UK tour he was advised to quarantine in the US for 14 days before beginning his trip back home. However the pandemic quickly developed and he was left unable to fly to the Caribbean island.

He has been apart from his family – wife Rebecca and daughters Sydney, 13 and Kelsey, nine – for the last eight weeks. Shaggy, 51, explained he is currently in contact with the ambassador of Jamaica who is ‘working tirelessly’ to try and get him back home.
