The actress, who features in Netflix series Sex Education, says: “I’ve been sent more vibrators than I ever have, which isn’t a bad thing.” Gillian, 51, was also previously bombarded with sex toys when Dana Scully, her character in sci-fi show The X-Files, was revealed to have a “personal massager” under her bed.
So it must be a pretty impressive quantity coming her way now. Gillian says her role in comedy drama Sex Education has had other effects, too.
She reckons it has “somehow given me licence to be inappropriate and meddle a bit too much” in her kids’ lives – exactly the sort of thing her character does.
