Sevilla goal vs Man Utd allowed after VAR check despite clear mistake from referee

VAR was powerless to act on a clear error from the referee which cost Manchester United in their Europa League tie against Sevilla.

The Red Devils took the lead early on when the referee Felix Brych pointed to the spot after Marcus Rashford was fouled. The VAR official allowed the decision to stand and Bruno Fernandes made no mistake from 12 yards.

But United were caught napping as former Liverpool star Suso arrived at the back post to fire his side level just before the half hour mark.

The goal left United frustrated after a quick throw in was taken by Sevilla to start the move when the ball clearly came off their defender, Jules Koundé, as it went out of play.
