As Los Angeles is coming to grips with the unprecedented destruction from this week’s wildfires, Apple TV+ and the Severance producing team have decided to cancel the Jan.

13 red carpet premiere for the upcoming second season of the acclaimed drama series, which was to be held in L.A. “As devastating wildfires continue to impact the Los Angeles area, and with safety as our first and foremost priority, we have made the decision to cancel Monday’s Severance season two premiere event,” Apple TV+ said in a statement. “Apple is donating to support the relief efforts on the ground and our thoughts and heartfelt support remain with everyone who has been affected by these tragic fires.

Thank you for your understanding.” Apple CEO Tim Cook yesterday announced that the California-based company “will be donating to support the victims and recovery efforts on the ground.” The Severance Season 2 premiere was set to take place at the TCL Chinese Theater, which is on Hollywood Blvd., a street that was on the border of a mandatory evacuation zone for the Sunset fire overnight.

This is the latest Hollywood event to be canceled in the wake of the disaster that has decimated multiple neighborhoods, with Pacific Palisades and Altadena the hardest hit.
