Jen Tullock, who plays Devon on Severance, is reflecting on that reveal from a recent episode of the Apple TV+ hit.

If you didn’t hear, at one point, Devon tells her brother, Mark S., that she had a crush on the woman at the birthing cottage.

That woman was Gabby Arteta, the wife of a senator, who was discovered to have undergone the severance procedure in order to avoid her outtie giving birth. Jen is reflecting on the reveal that Devon is queer. Keep reading to find out more… Parade asked her, “When Devon says she has a crush on the lady who was pregnant, is this the first time we hear anything about her sexuality on the show?” She responded, “Yes, that was improvised, and I was so stoked that they left it in. [Creator Dan Erickson] and I had talked about Devon’s backstory, and that she was probably queer, and dated people of all genders before meeting Ricken.

I think she went to Bennington and backpacked all over the world. And she definitely had a hot rugby playing girlfriend for a long time.
