Peter Tobin could be called to give evidence at an inquest into the death of an art student more than four decades ago. The notorious Scots serial killer has been linked to the disappearance of Jessie Earl, 22, whose skeleton was found nine years after she vanished in a remote part of the Beachy Head cliffs in East Sussex, England.
Now her family are considering calling the 75-year-old - who is behind bars at HMP Edinburgh for the murders of three young women - to a fresh inquiry after Jessie described meeting a middle-aged Scottish man near the same spot her body was found.
