Senior teacher arrested in connection with rape of former pupil
dailyrecord.co.ukPolice have arrested a senior teacher at a secondary school in connection with the rape of a former pupil.Officers confirmed a man was cuffed earlier this week after a complaint was made from the parents of a child, according to The Echo.Cops are probing claims a girl, who was 16 at the time of the alleged offences were said to be committed, was sent pictures and videos.It is understood the accused held a senior leadership position at the school.
He has since been suspended while an investigation takes place, and references to him have been removed from the school' website.Neither the teacher nor the school can be identified for legal reasons.A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that a man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of four counts of rape of a woman aged 16 years or over and attempting to cause a child to watch/look at an image of sexual activity."He has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries."The force confirmed the allegations relate to the same complainant.
