new memoir “Selling Sunshine,” Bonnet details how, after a trip to Bali with her husband, Romain Bonnet, she had a “strong hunch” that she was pregnant.
The vice president of the Oppenheim Group wrote that she shared that hunch with the production team of the Netflix show. “Naturally, they wanted to capture the entire thing on camera, so they asked me to wait to take the pregnancy test until they could be there,” she said.
In her book, she recalled responding, “Well, then you need to come over now, because I’m going to do it.” But, she said the producers told her that they were in the middle of filming other scenes — so she had to wait to take her pregnancy test. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding?’ ” she recalled. “You’re going to delay us finding out whether or not we’re having a baby?!
Can’t we just re-create the scene?” She revealed she didn’t find out she was pregnant until the next morning, with the show’s crew there. “In addition to my absolute astonishment, I suddenly became aware that I had cameras on me, recording my reaction, which made me hyper-focused on what I was saying and doing,” she wrote.
