Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television producer. After appearing on the children's series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she received wider recognition for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 until 2012.
Gomez also starred in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), and Monte Carlo (2011). Thereafter, she focused on more mature roles in Spring Breakers (2012), Getaway (2013), The Fundamentals of Caring (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019). She voices the character of Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise, and serves as an executive producer of the Netflix television drama series 13 Reasons Why (2017–present) and the Netflix documentary series Living Undocumented (2019).

The 30-year-old Only Murders in the Building star reflected on Francia‘s donation in the newest episode of Apple TV+’s Dear… If you recall, Francia was a match to Selena and donated a kidney to the star in 2017, after Selena was diagnosed with lupus. Keep reading to find out more… In the episode, which aired on Friday, March 10, Selena reflected about Francia stepping up for her at her time of need. “I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia,” she shared. “The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.” Selena went on, explaining that “it was one of those moments where I felt watched over.
I know I was so, so, so lucky. I understand that that doesn’t happen for a lot of people and I know the outcome of some of those situations and how serious they are, so I do not take it lightly that it’s happened to me that way.” Her comments come just months after Selena named Taylor Swift as her only friend in the industry. Francia did respond to the admission, and unfollowed Selena as a result.
