Selena Gomez is getting vulnerable like never before in a new Vanity Fair cover story out on Monday. In the raw new interview, the Only Murders In The Building star shared for the first time that she “can’t carry [her] own children” due to various medical issues.

She was diagnosed with lupus in 2013, and then underwent a kidney transplant in 2017. She’s worked so hard to tackle these health concerns, so we obviously get why it’s not worth the risk.

But that must have been so hard for her to hear! The actress went on to acknowledge that she has not “ever said this” publicly before, partially because she needed to take the time to get comfortable with the idea of starting a family in a different way first.
