Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will stand trial next May, a judge has ruled.The well-known rap star, aged 54, was arrested last month in New York and is awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges after being denied bail.
Combs appeared before Judge Arun Subramanian on Thursday, 10 October, in Manhattan federal court at a pretrial hearing where Judge Subramanian set a trial date of 5 May 2025.Thursday's proceedings marked Diddy's first appearance in court since his arrest.
Prior to the pretrial hearing, his lawyer Alexander A.E. Shapiro filed an appeal to the U. S. Court of Appeals asking for Combs to be released from jail before his trial.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the legal documents, filed on Tuesday, 8 October, state that Combs "was not released pending trial, even though he offered to comply with restrictive conditions that would have prevented any conceivable risk of flight or danger." It added: "Mr.
