The only Scottish destination to feature on the roundup is Port Ellen on the island of Islay.Islay is the most southern of the Inner Hebrides, situated off of Scotland's west coast.
Port Ellen is the island's second-largest town after Bowmore, and was founded in 1821.The Sunday Times praised Port Ellen for its "dramatic scenery" and easy access to Islay's numerous whisky distilleries.
