House prices in an Ayrshire town rose at one of the highest rates in Scotland in 2021, according to new data. Kilmarnock has recorded one of the largest increases in terms of percentage and cash terms.
East Ayrshire's biggest town saw average house prices rise by almost £20,000 (£19,183) which equates to a 13.1 per cent rise compared to 2020, according to Bank of Scotland figures.The data means Kilmarnock recorded a rise above the UK average.In 2020 the average home in Kilmarnock was sold for £146,351 but this increased to £165,534 in 2021.This means Kilmarnock has the fourth-highest house price increase in Scotland.However, Motherwell recorded the biggest rise in Scotland with a 17.3 per cent rise or £26,103 increase.The North Lanarkshire
