Stuart McKinstry says Motherwell owe their fans a Scottish Cup run and hopes to experience the elation of a Hampden win as a player, having done so as a fan.The 20-year-old pointed to a 2-0 League Cup semi-final win over Rangers at the National Stadium in October 2017, in which Louis Moult bagged a double, as one memorable occasion.With supporters displaying a banner outside the stadium about lack of passion, McKinstry says it would be especially good timing to give them some happy memories in the competition.And he hopes a win over Championship side Raith Rovers today will make Motherwell’s players realise they’re only a couple of games away from a Hampden date.McKinstry said: “I know how it is to come away from there, winning.“I’ve not done it as a player, so I would like to experience that, and I know how much it would mean to the fans.“It would be massive for everyone at the club.“A cup run would mean everything.
