Scott Brown on studying top English club managers ahead of Ayr United role
dailyrecord.co.ukScott Brown has told how he spent time learning from some of English football's top bosses before taking on the job at Ayr United.Broony was unveiled as The Honest Men's new gaffer last night and watched from the stands as his new team ran out 2-0 winners over Arbroath at Somerset.He will immediately get to work on the training pitch ahead of Saturday's visit to Hampden when United face Queen's Park - and will hope to implement some of the knowledge gained during his downtime after leaving Fleetwood Town in September.Brown spent time with the likes of Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham and David Moyes at West Ham in a bid to prepare himself for his next managerial challenge - which has now come at Somerset Park.
He told the Ayrshire Post: "Both myself and Steven (Whittaker) have been keen to do as much learning as we can and study as many different styles as possible.
Ange is all about high press and intensity and getting after people, whereas Davie is more mid to low block and catching teams on the counter.
I went into Leeds as well and they've a slightly different style with the pace in their side. So it was a look at three different styles of play and different managers and understanding of their gameplay and it proved really valuable. "There's not any right way or any wrong way - but the main thing they all said was stick to your plan and what you think works for you with the group of lads that you have.
