Scott Brown insists Rangers have talked their way into title trouble by firing up Celtic for the run-in. Brown has revealed how a vow-of-silence instruction from Brendan Rodgers helped the Parkhead club stay focused during the march to nine successive league titles.
And the former Celtic skipper says he and his team mates were motivated by a succession of big promises made by their rivals on the other side of the city.
Brown has claimed he knew the champions would topple Philippe Clement’s side before the 2-1 win on December 30 which opened up an eight point gap at the top of the table.
And asked why he was so certain he said: “Because Celtic are quiet. They don’t speak too much, they don’t get too excited. They stay kind of mellow all the way through and I think that’s the best thing that Brendan ever brought to the football club.
