Allan spent six months on loan with the Taysiders in 2017, where he was a team-mate of current Dundee gaffer James McPake. He’ll be in Hibs’ squad for their Premiership return against Celtic at Parkhead on Monday night.

McPake has been frustrated so far in the window after losing out to Kilmarnock for centre-back Ash Taylor and failing to get striker Sam Cosgrove from Birmingham. So far the Dark Blues manager has added Canadian international Jay Chapman from Inter Miami in Major League Soccer. He’s lost centre-back Lee Ashcroft and frontman Cillian Sheridan to long-term injury, while there has also been interest in striker Jason Cummings who could leave.Read more on dailyrecord.co.uk
