Scott Allan believes the Hibs players could end up getting “the best of a bad situation” as the club look to come up with a financial solution to the coronavirus crisis.
It is understood Hibs are in discussions with staff about a scheme that would see them sacrifice a percentage of their salary which would then be paid at a later date.
And Allan has admitted in the current climate it seems likely there are going to be financial casualties as clubs struggle to survive without knowing when their revenue streams will be restored.
The Easter Road midfielder said: “I’m not sure what will be agreed but it is inevitable for so many clubs. “Barcelona players are taking a 70 per cent pay cut and you can see why.
