A Scots woman says she is participating in 'Off the Beatson Track' as a way to 'reconnect with her mother' as the fundraiser celebrates its 11th year.

This year holds special significance for Courtney Welsh, who is walking in honor of her mum, Vivienne Welsh. Vivienne participated in the inaugural event 10 years ago but passed away from secondary breast cancer in 2016.

The 10k walk takes place on Sunday, August 25, and will be hosted by STV's Laura Boyd and Heart FM and BBC's David Farrell, reports Glasgow Live.

Courtney, 31, from Glasgow, plans to complete 'Off the Beatson Track' alone, but she will carry her mum's spirit with her by bringing Vivienne's t-shirt from the 2014 event.
