A Scots woman who posts videos of her impressive make-up transformations on social media has slammed evil online trolls who call her a “catfish” for using beauty products to change her appearance.

Charlotte Rough, has gone viral on TikTok several times since launching her account with millions of views collectively. However, while the majority of the comments she receives are positive, there is usually regular messages posted by people who criticise the way the 18-year-old looks before putting on make-up.

The teenager, from Airdrie, says the comments are “very harmful” as they perpetuate the idea that she can never look as good without make-up on as she does with it.

Speaking to Mirror Online, Charlotte said: “I receive a lot of criticism and hate on those types of videos. I get called a ‘catfish’ mostly, which can be very harmful as it’s hinting that I can never look as good as I do with makeup on. “I also experience a lot of ‘you only look good because you have 5000 pounds of makeup on’ comments, which are just ridiculous!” Charlotte, who posts on TikTok under the username @charlotterough, has learned to not let the negative comments get to her, but it wasn’t always that easy - with the negativity she received taking a toll on her mental health.
