A Scots school was locked down after a woman's body was discovered at a nearby property. Officers descended onto Sunnyside Road in Aberdeen after receiving a report of concern for person at 10.40am today.
On arrival, the body of a woman was discovered within and cops remain at the scene.A 43-year-old man was later arrested on Scotstown Road in connection with the incident - but not the woman's death, it is understood.In response to the incident, Scotstown Primary School was locked down as a precaution, with all pupils prevented from leaving the premises unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
An Aberdeen City Council spokesperson said: “We were alerted by Police Scotland to an incident in the Bridge of Don area this afternoon.
Although unrelated to the nearby Scotstown Primary School, as a precaution the school activated its agreed lockdown procedure, which prevents pupils from leaving the school unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.”Officers investigating the circumstances of the woman's death say inquiries remain ongoing.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 10.40am on Monday, January 16, officers were called to a property on Sunnyside Road, Aberdeen, following a report of concern for a person.
