Scots school issues warning after terrified child approached by man

A Scots school has issued a stark warning after a man tried to approach a child.Police have launched a probe after the incident happened on South Woodside Road near Kelvinbridge subway station in Glasgow.

The 12-year-old boy was approached by the man on Thursday afternoon.This 'alarmed' the young lad, who ran off before informing his parents who were nearby.Thankfully there was no physical contact on the boy and he was unharmed.Officers say their enquiries are ongoing to identify the man.They will be combing over CCTV footage and conducting door to door enquiries.In a message to parents, the school wrote: "We encourage you to speak to your children about keeping safe when out and about and remind them never to go off with a stranger, accept gifts from a stranger or get into a vehicle with anyone they don't know."Cops have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.A Police Scotland spokesman said: "On the afternoon of Thursday, a 12-year-old boy was approached by a man on South Woodside Road, Glasgow.

This alarmed the boy and he ran off and informed his parent who was nearby."No physical contact was made and the boy was not injured.""Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man involved and detectives are checking CCTV and conducting door to door enquiries."If you witnessed the incident or have any other information about it, please contact 101 with reference 2546 of January 20."
