A Scots police officer appeared on The Chase but had little success after failing to answer one question. Joanne from Armadale, West Lothian tried her hand at the TV quiz show reaching the final round with her team playing for a slice of £12,000 cash prize.

The 999 responder and judo enthusiast took on Chaser Paul Sinha in a bid to treat son Jude to a trip to Diggerland. As Edinburgh Live reports the episode aired on Friday, January 17 on STV at 5pm.

Joanne was third up as she took on the cash builder with her two teammates, Josh from Belfast and Mike from Salisbury, already banking £10,000.She then faced Chaser Sinha.

She then stepped up and introduced herself as a police officer who has a black belt in judo. Host Bradley Walsh joked that the only thing he knew about West Lothian was that it is "situated on the M8."The cash builder round got off to a flyer to begin with Joanne answering the first two questions correctly when quizzed on Guy Fawkes Night and the musician Sting. However things quickly took a turn with the officer failing to answer another question correctly for the remainder of the round with four passes used.Joanne rallied and she brought back £2,000 and when Paul appeared she was offered a low option of £1,000 and a whopping high offer of £50,000.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join
