A Scots centenariansays multiple cups of tea and laughter are the secret to a long life as she celebrates her 103rd birthday.Lena 'Alice' Lamount marked the momentous occasion on August 22 by tucking into 103 cupcakes that had been specially prepared for her big day.The Edinburgh pensioner, who lives at Care UK’s Murrayside home on South Beechwood, was blown away after receiving over 120 birthday cards.Kind messages had been gathered from around the world including relatives, local surgeries and residents in Canada and Singapore.Alice then rounded off the day by enjoying a performance from the local “Queen of Queer Cabaret” group, with singer Miss Annabel serenading her with some of her favourite tunes.On all the cards she received, Alice said: "Are those all for me?

That's lovely that everyone sent them in for me - I've had such a wonderful day!"Reflecting on her many happy years, Alice shared the secrets to a long life including "plenty of cups of tea and having a laugh."
