Wearing a mask is "really distressing" for the schoolboy, who has autism and is deaf in one ear. Amber told Edinburgh Live it was likely the face covering would have resulted in sensory overload in what is already a bright and busy environment.
Amber said: "The Government has said that you don’t need to wear a face covering if you have a legitimate reason not to. This includes not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment or disability; or if putting on, wearing or removing.
