Scots mum almost dies after losing 'nearly all the blood in her body' during birth

A Scots chip shop owner has told of how she almost died giving birth to her daughter - but was saved with multiple blood transfusions.

Martine Curran, 40, experienced multiple organ failure after giving birth to Mara four years ago. Mum of two Martine owns the Silvery Tay on Charleston Drive, Dundee, with husband JP - who had to make the painful call to her mum to warn that her daughter could be about to die.
