UK vaccine trial boss has warned that life may not get back to normal until the summer next year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Andrew Pollard, of the Oxford vaccine trial team, said that Scots may have to follow strict rules on face coverings until July - even if vaccine tests turn out to be successful.
The professor indicated that the first batch of jabs would be initially only available for frontline health workers. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Prof Pollard said: “If we end up with a vaccine that’s effective in preventing the disease, that is by far the best way to control the virus. “But in the medium term, we’ll still need better treatments.
