A man has died after he was seriously injured in a tragic accident involving a quad bike. A joint investigation has been launched by Police Scotland and the Health and Safety Executive into the incident which happened on Wednesday in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.
The victim has been named locally as 67-year-old engineer John Godsman, who ran his own firm in the town and had also worked in the oil industry.
It is understood Mr Godsman was helping a friend load quad bikes onto a lorry in the premises of a local firm Groundwater Lift Trucks when he fell and struck his head.
The victim was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the morning accident where he died the following day.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 67-year-old man who was injured at premises on Broomhill Road in Stonehaven around 11.20am on Wednesday, 20 December.“The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
