Scots Loganair flight forced to make emergency landing in Manchester after mid-air fault

A Loganair flight from Aberdeen was forced to make an emergency landing last night. Flight tracking services say the plane was made to divert from its course and land early after a mid-air 'squawk' alert was issued.Loganair flight LOG5PS left Aberdeen Airport at around 7.40pm and was scheduled to land in Bristol later that evening.

However, it was diverted to Manchester Airport after an "indication fault", reports Manchester Evening News. The airline confirmed that the plane had to change route following the mid-air issue and thanked passengers for their "patience".

Loganair then provided passengers with transport to get to Bristol.A spokesperson for Loganair said: “We can confirm our Aberdeen to Bristol flight LM045 made a precautionary landing in Manchester due to an indication fault.

The flight has since landed and Loganair thanks affected passengers for their patience. Alternative travel arrangements have been made to ensure customers are transported to Bristol.” Manchester Airport told the Manchester Evening News they were aware the flight was diverted from Bristol into Manchester on Tuesday evening.
