Scots gran dies in horror house fire as 'devastated' family pay tribute

A beloved Scots gran died in a horrific house fire in Moray. Elizabeth Petrie, who is believed to have been in her 90s, died in the blaze at her home in Union Street, Keith yesterday.Emergency crews raced to the scene around 3.35pm and extinguished the fire but tragically a body was recovered within the property.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the blaze.Her devastated family paid tribute to Elizabeth after they learned of her sudden death.Elizabeth, known as Betty, was well known in the town having ran a connivence shop for many years until retiring in the 1990s.Grandson Dusty MacDonald told the Record of his fond recollections of his Granny Betty and childhood trips north from his home in Aberdeen.He
