snake in the UK Stuart Stoddart was taking his black Labrador, Reuben, for an early morning walk yesterday when he spotted the large snake enjoying the sun near Ladhope Golf Course in Galashiels.
The 51-year-old paramedic was alerted to the Adder when it scared a female runner and she warned him of its presence. Although not unusual to see snakes at this particular spot, it is rare to see such a large specimen out in the open as they usually hide away.Stuart told the Record: "I was out walking my dog and I bumped into a female runner - she had gotten a fright - she said there was a snake on the hill."The dog didn't see it and he ran right by it."It looked like an Adder.
