Scots dog savaged by out of control bull mastiffs saved by new winter jacket

A Scots pooch who almost died after being mauled by two out-of-control dogs at a Glasgow park only survived thanks to his new winter jacket.

Mylo, an Australian Labradoodle, was being walked by his owner’s grandfather in Dawsholm Park when he was set upon by the mastiff-type dogs on December 15.The dog was rushed to the vet after suffering multiple puncture wounds, internal bleeding and a suspected fractured pelvis, which has left him unable to walk for two weeks.

His worried owners, Angela and Clark Smith, cut their holiday short after being told their beloved pet may not survive.The couple have now issued a warning to other park-goers to be on the lookout for the suspect dogs and their owner, who have yet to be identified.

Mum-of-three Angela, 53, told how vets believe Mylo only survived thanks to his winter clothing, which covered his neck, and the fact he was on a leash at the time.She explained: “My husband and I were away for two nights in Liverpool when it happened.
