Dundee-based global superstar in the making Hannah Laing has been continuously wowing clubbers with her iconic brand of 'doof' and now, the star is gearing up to playBBC Radio 1'sThe 29-year-old DJ and producer rose to fame after she caught the attention of Pete Tong, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, JAGUAR and Sarah Story, quickly welcoming 15,000 fans to the TRICK stage at Creamfields.Following her impressive Creamfields performance, Hannah's life changed - from her humble beginnings studying at the Harris Academy in Dundee to spending 26 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and launching her own record label, 'Doof'.Speaking to The Daily Record, Hannah credits her global success to her rave-loving parents, admitting that she's always been raised surrounded by dance music.
Opening up on her earliest encounter with the genre, she said: "My mum and dad had me at such a young age they were only 17 in 1994 so that was the peak 90s raving era. "They were still kids themselves and when I think back to being 17, I'm like I do not know how they brought me up."But they were still raving and enjoying their life, and my whole childhood was always dance music - in the car, in the house, at parties."I have all their old tapes, CD's and records from back in the day and I feel so lucky to have a build-up of their knowledge from over the years, a lot of my tracks now are sampled from my mum and dad's old collection."She added: "Now, I've really found my sound and it's an influence of all that combined with a more modern sound and I just feel so lucky to have that."The Good Love DJ performed her first gig at 18 in a small pub in Arbroath, attended by her loved ones and from then on, she took as many opportunities as she could to show off her skills.H
