A Scots dad who was suffering from hip pain was later given the devastating news that he was had incurable cancer. Ian Massie, 66, originally thought the pain in his hip and legs was down to his sciatica before he went for further checks last Christmas when it began to get worse.
Following an appointment with his GP and a series of tests, the Edinburgh dad was told by medics that he was suffering from myeloma, a rare type of blood cancer.
As reported by Edinburgh Live, his devoted son Andrew is now set to complete his fourth marathon in a month this weekend in a bid to raise funds to find a cure.
Andrew said: “He didn’t seem himself at Christmas and he knew that as well. The pain had been lingering for three months at this point.
