Scots 'celebrity cat' has modelled, acted and even has 10,000 fans

Jasper the cat has a more active social life than most people these days. The Edinburgh pet has modelled, acted and even climbed Ben Nevis - all while being captured by owner Marley Alva-Jorgensen.

The 24-year-old began posting pics of her ragdoll cat in 2021, filling Instagram with images their adventures hiking, beach days out, and trips to pubs and events in their home city of Edinburgh.Within a year of starting the account, Jasper had amassed over 10,000 followers - and he was even signed with an animal talent agency, doing modelling and acting jobs for Petfresh, EE and Lily's Kitchen.Marley, who is a veterinary nursing student, got Jasper when he was three months old - but says his energetic nature was difficult to deal with at first.Recalling the kitten, Marley said: "Jasper had so much energy - he's probably the most energetic pet I've ever owned.

For about a week after I got him, he didn't sleep a wink and he wanted me to play with him constantly."It was a bit like having a toddler or a newborn baby he cried all night and wanted so much attention!

I was playing with him for three hours a day, and then he would run around the house for hours after that."I love him so much, but it was a bit overwhelming."After just three restless nights, Marley realised she needed an outlet for Jasper's energy.
