Scots care home builds incredible hub for isolated residents to spend time with loved ones

care home has combated Covid restrictions by building an outdoor visitor hub for residents to see their families. Abbeyfield House, in Irvine, has created a safe space for the old folk to meet their families in a garden setting - while managing to be undercover and warm in the winter.

The delighted pensioners are now able to see their loved ones in private behind a thin sheet of glass and telephones to talk on - without the need of being covered head to toe in PPE.
