Alan Cumming told Harry Potter producers to 'f*** off' when they offered him the chance to be part of the franchise. The Scots actor, 56, was in the running to play Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in the second film but turned down the offer, citing a pay dispute as his reason for refusal.The role eventually went to Cambridge thespian Kenneth Branagh, but not before producers also had their eye on Madonna's ex-boyfriend Rupert Everett.

After finding out Rupert had been offered a bigger sum for the role, Alan has some choice words for the Harry Potter producers.

Speaking to The Telegraph, he said: "They wanted me and Rupert Everett to do a screen test, and they said they couldn't pay me more than a certain sum, they just didn't have any more.
