ScotRail customers should check their journey is still going ahead before travelling as late cancellations are expected during more industrial action.

The news comes as Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) members have been instructed to stop working overtime hours amid an on-going pay dispute with the train operator.

Some 2,000 employees at ScotRail are members of the RMT union, with strike action expected to involve daily cancellations from Friday.A statement on the ScotRail Twitter said: "Due to an overtime ban by RMT members of ScotRail, we're advising customers to expect some cancellations to services.

We will provide as much information as possible on which services are affected across our social media channels, website & app."The latest talks have seen the RMT reject ScotRail's current offer of a five per cent pay increase, six-year job guarantee, a one-off £500 payment for technology like mobile phones and improved maternity leave conditions.
