As parts of the UK boil in temperatures as high as 33C, Scotland will be facing a deluge of rain this weekend.While the Met Office says official heatwave criteria could be met in southern and eastern England, Scots will be donning waterproofs.
The thundery showers down south will be avoided, but Scotland is expecting to see plenty of rain.Warm, wet, and humid weather is in the cards this weekend as rain falls amid temperatures up to 25C.
On Friday, the highest rainfall is expected in western Scotland and Northern Ireland and that theme is set to continue through the weekend.
The Met Office's latest update reports a "marked difference" between the UK's northwest and southeast areas. Scots should expect more bands of rain pushing northwest on Saturday and Sunday.Temperatures on Friday will remain warm as Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness have highs of 20C.Saturday will feel "quite humid", according to BBC Scotland Weather's Gillian Smart.
